Pete Lazzari
Meet Pete, our President. Pete earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from The University of Nevada Reno in 2013. He has a cross-functional background in civil engineering, project and construction management, safety, quality control, client and customer relations, product delivery, project budgets, and problem solving in both the commercial and residential sectors.
He is a passionate and caring uncle to his four nieces and nephew, and a lover of his Great Dane Dabo. On a summer weekend, you can typically catch him stuck in a green side bunker or camping somewhere in the trees.

Sam Petrie
Meet Sam, our Project Manager. Sam has been in the construction industry for over 12 years. His boots on the ground mentality have helped him grow into a well-rounded PM. His ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and clients is essential to Blue Cannon’s success. He comes to work every day with a commitment to excellence and a can-do attitude that gets project after project completed on schedule.
Sam’s background in masonry assists him in overseeing tasks that require a bit of extra work. He’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves at any of his projects always goes the extra mile for our clients. Sam knows that word of mouth referrals are our best marketing and his client facing role is indispensable in the future success and growth of our company.
Above all, Sam is a family man. He prides himself in being a loving husband and father to his two beautiful daughters. When they are not traveling together or out camping, you can find him in the mountains or out on the lake. Hunting, fishing, and hiking are some of his favorite activities to do on the weekend. He’d tell you that his current golf game is average but that he has all the tools to become a future champion on the PGA tour. Until that dream comes true, he is focused on making Blue Cannon Builders the best construction company to work with in all of Northern Nevada.

Skyler Kachurak
Meet Skyler, our Client Relations professional. His diverse background in business development and leadership makes him an exceptional addition to our team. His enthusiasm for life is unmatched and his entrepreneurial spirit has the Blue Cannon team thinking big about our vision for the future. Skyler is a University of Nevada alum with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics, and a die-hard Wolf Pack fan. He puts family over everything with his beautiful wife and two blossoming children. His world travels add an element of exploration and adventure to our culture here at Blue Cannon, allowing us to think outside the box and get creative with our construction projects.
He is also our resident realtor and real estate professional. His experience as a successful real estate investor helps tremendously in conversations with our construction clients about the return on their investment. Maximizing value for our customers is a key component of our culture at Blue Cannon.
When not building the future of northern Nevada, you can often find Skyler in the middle of the fairway, soaking up all the great outdoors has to offer out on the golf course. He’s also passionate about being a loving husband and father, hiking in the Sierras, and making a positive impact on as many young lives in the Reno community as possible. John Lazzari
Meet John, our Supervisor. John spent 30 years working as a lineman and installer for Nevada Bell/SBC/AT&T. Rather than riding off into the sunset after retirement, John wanted to continue his career and help his son, Pete, grow a business. John has a long history of running construction crews and effectively communicating with clients.
John has been happily married to his wife, Mary Ann, for 45 years. They have 4 children (J.W., Zach, Andrea & Pete) and 5 grandchildren (Audrey, Adaline, Eva, Mickey & Kyla). When he isn’t working, you can find John at the ball fields watching his grandchildren, working on house projects or tending to his chickens with Mary Ann.
John’s work ethic and positive attitude has built the foundation of Blue Cannon Builders.
